SEMARANG, INDONESIA – January 24, 2026.
The TUNE (Nurture Future Green Leader) Project, an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education initiative, successfully concluded its second Training of Trainers (ToT2) at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Semarang. The five-day program brought together researchers, lecturers, and student leaders from ASEAN and Europe with a shared objective: accelerating higher education’s role in the transition toward a green-collar economy.
Throughout the week, participants moved beyond treating sustainability as a slogan and focused on embedding it as a core institutional value described as the “DNA of sustainability.” ToT2 marked 2026 as a strategic turning point, with a collective commitment to reshape sustainability frameworks by placing Well-being at the center of institutional platforms. This shift integrates environmental responsibility, such as energy efficiency and low-carbon campus initiatives, with mental health, inclusivity, and the overall well-being of the academic community.
Collaborative workshops formed the backbone of the program, enabling students and academicians to co-create a shared 2026 Green Roadmap. Discussions focused on integrating sustainability across curricula, designing governance models that support resource-efficient campuses, and strengthening student leadership pathways aligned with emerging green job markets. Rather than isolating sustainability as a standalone agenda, participants worked to align education, governance, and community engagement within a holistic framework.
By the conclusion of ToT2, the network reached a shared understanding that sustainability must be encultured into every aspect of campus life. The Semarang meeting reinforced 2026 as the “Year of the Sustainability Shift,” redefining institutional success through Well-being Platforms that balance environmental stewardship with human-centered development. As emphasized by the project team, the goal is not only to teach sustainability, but to cultivate graduates equipped to lead the global green transition.
The program closed with a site visit to UNDIP’s Living Lab initiatives, highlighting practical applications of low-carbon mobility and energy efficient campus management. With strong momentum from ToT2, the TUNE Project continues to strengthen its role as a regional hub for green higher education in Southeast Asia.
Thank you, UNDIP—and see everyone next in USM Micro-Credential Workshop in Penang, Malaysia Jan 26-28, 2026.
