Tune- Nurture Future Green Leader  is a project funded by the European Commission involving 10 universities from three European countries (Austria, Portugal, and Lithuania) and three ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam). In this environmentally conscious project envisioning a sustainable future, Indonesia is represented by Diponegoro University (Undip) and Hasanuddin University (Unhas).

Prof. Didik Wisnu Widjajanto and Prof. F. Kusmiyati, two academics from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture at Diponegoro University (Undip), Semarang, were sent to the Nurture Future Green Leaders (Tune) project management meeting in Graz, Austria, last month. They visited Vom Hügel (also spelled Vom Huegel), which was founded by Margrit De Colle in 2005 in Erbersdorf, Eichkögl, Styria, Austria. The business has grown steadily and, in 2010, became the first flower farm in Austria to be certified for organic cut-flower cultivation. Vom Hügel adheres to EU Bio standards 834/2007 and 889/2008, avoiding synthetic pesticides and prohibited mineral fertilizers. What started as a small field on a hill has now evolved into a creative space that brings together nature, people, crafts, and food—embracing the spirit of sustainable living.
